Meet-a-Mojito
Hey! Tell us about yourself and a fun fact.
Hi, I am Sum! The Co-founder of EventXtra, a Hong Kong-based startup corporate event management SaaS platform, providing services to top-tier companies from all over the world.
I love to take adventures & try new things. I have got HKD 100K funding from government fund and established EventXtra with my teammate in 2014 after graduating from university.
What motivated you to start your company?
The event industry has always provided huge opportunities for participants, but running events can be a painful process for event planners. Event planners may need to work hard manually and have very limited data in terms of measuring results.
EventXtra aims to provide event planners with a smarter way to run events virtually, face-to-face, and hybrid. I believe that technology can make events and meetings a better place for attendees to connect.
How do you acquire users and grow your company?
Our business took a hit following the COVID-19 pandemic which led to the delay or cancellation of several events and exhibitions due to social distancing rules across different regions.
However, in response, we launched a virtual event solution in May to adapt to the critical time. This new product can help event organizers transform their offline event strategies into online events.
Compared with the same period last year, our revenue increased by 2 to 3 times in the second quarter. We have developed a CMS system for organizers and exhibitors so that they can also build their own virtual event sites.
What is your future goal?
We want to be the Uber for events. With EventXtra, everyone can hold events anytime, anywhere in the world.
We will focus on developing hybrid event solutions and continue to enhance the platform so that organizers with zero concepts coding can easily manage virtual and physical events.
Anything our readers should know?
This is a difficult time for the world and the event industry. We will launch a giveback campaign in early December to support SMEs and NGOs that have been suffering from the COVID-19.
Stay tuned and do not miss the chance to host events with EventXtra virtual event platform for free. For more event info and platform details, please feel free to visit https://eventxtra.com/products/virtual-exhibition-v/ and contact us directly.
