Meet-a-Mojito
Hey! Tell us about yourself and a fun fact.
Xavier: Hi Mojitos! I am Xavier, born in the country of croissants & baguettes, raised in Lille where beer flows. Last year, I moved to HK to be part of its booming startup ecosystem. Now my current topics are about the future of work and engagement!
Fun Fact: My friends call me "crazy runner" cause at any time of the year they desperately find me running.
Charles: Hi, I am Charles, enthusiastic about the French culture, lived 6 years in France, founded French subsidiary TheCodingMachine in HK. Tech solutions are about creativity, that’s what I bring to the business world!
Fun Fact: I manage multi-languages fluently, not only Mandarin, Cantonese, French, English, but also Python, Javascript, PHP & SQL :)
What motivated you to start your company?
Charles: Earlier this year, we wanted to shift to remote work, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this change. Quickly a distance gap started to appear, information was not shared among teams, meetings needed to be scheduled and were definitely too formal (and not engaging).
Xavier: We were not satisfied with the "existing", David, CTO of TheCodingMachine took the lead to build a gamified collaboration platform that makes remote work engaging and interactive (and free!). More recently, a private version allows hosting virtual fairs.
How do you acquire users and grow your company?
Charles: Success was unexpected! Back in April we started to tell our clients about this internal platform, they immediately got interested.
8 months later, thousands of weekly connections, +10 companies use it as their digital workplace, 5 virtual fairs for recruitment or networking events (the largest hosting 588 participants!)
Xavier: Since day 1, we tried to involve our teams and users in the product design. Our users are co-innovators, so they naturally spread the word. We interact a lot on Twitter and LinkedIn "Work Adventure by TCM", Github is also a good platform to report enhancements.
What is your future goal?
Charles: We have plenty of ideas. If you really want to know, I’d tell you “build the next UNICORN”! For now, we are focusing on our clients' specific needs and ensuring their first experiences are successful. So stay tuned!
Anything our readers should know?
Xavier: Congratulations to Felix for building Virtual Mojito and giving everyone access to it for free! We also love free stuff, so everyone can experience workadventu.re for a day, a week, a month, as long as you want with your teammates.
Your feedback really matters, so connect with me!
Charles: Join us to shape the future of work together! Look forward to meeting you in our virtual offices ;)
